Nadia Osornio (Mexico City,1981)

Visual artist from Mexico City. She obtained her PhD in Fine Arts in 2021 (UNAM). In 2022, she won first place in the Professional Alternative Techniques category of the International Image Festival (FINI). Her latest solo exhibitions were Conquista visual, in José Clemente Orozco Gallery in Mexico City (2019). She presented as well Vicisitudes del ver (Academia de San Carlos, 2014 and Radio Educación, 2013), as well as Ver a través (AAPAUNAM, 2016). 

She has exhibited collectively in different venues such as: 8vo. Festival de Fotografía Impresa (Córdoba, Arg., 2023), Stand de libros alternativos de la FAD (Feria Internacional del Libro de Minería, CDMX, 2023), Surveillance society (Roma, Italia, 2022), 4th Chania International PhotoFestival (Chania, Grecia, 2021), Empty streets (ArtDocMagazine, Inglaterra, 2021), Nasty Women México (Museo Memoria y Tolerancia, CDMX, 2017), among others.

Her work has been selected in contests like First María Izquierdo Painting Biennal 2018, X Alfredo Zalce Painting and Printing National Biennal 2016, VI Public Art Metting: Pensamiento y Nuevos Relatos. Ficció/n/ación (Telecápita/MUAC, 2016), XI Arte Vivo Edition Curatorship 2016, XXVI and XXIX National Meeting of Young Art (2006 and 2009), XIII Biennial of Drawing and Stamping Diego Rivera (2008), XIV National Printmaking Competition José Guadalupe Posada (2006), among others. 

Her work has been published in Magazine of the University of Mexico (2018 and 2023) and in Voices of Mexico magazine (2023). Since 2013, she works as a professor at UNAM and other art higher education institutions.
